Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court since that period of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a decider.
He rescued four early-game chances in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
